Closed/Moved

Opti-Pessi.BlogSpot.com is no more. There won't be anymore updates, or anything. I've moved from here to a new location at completeBS.net.

This site won't be deleted or removed, but some pictures my be lost. Everything is being transfered to a different server, and I'm not going to take the time to fix all the old posts links and images.

If you are a fan of the comic(s), feel free to check out my new haunt. I can't say that I will be making new comics, but I won't say that I'm not.

Thanks to all the visitors that checked back each week for the latest Opti-Pessi release. And didn't complain or stop visiting when we were late with releasing them.

I don't give a wooden nickel about your compatibility...

Steam has a great sale going on, so I padded my game list a bit more. Only to have McNaire and I to start talking about old school games... Mainly, Red Alert 2. But it seems that out of all the Command & Conquer games, that is the only one that has compatibility issues with Vista. From what my research discovered, even the original Command & Conquer and Red Alert will run, although I haven't tried them myself.

I've tried all the tricks that I know, and everywhere I look everybody keeps telling me the same things(change compatibility and run as admin), which is what I tried before I even looked. Ah well...

Comic stuff:

Still getting things together for the big release, which as you may have guessed has been postponed, or readjusted, or whatever you want to call it. I'm guessing the second week of January, but that's not concrete. I really hope before February, hope...

You there, Stalker, come over here.

Okay, couple of quick notes:

I'm playing too much S.T.A.L.K.E.R. right now.

We may or may not be working on a Thanksgiving Special, that may or may not intertwine both Opti-Pessi and BLU.

There will most likely be a delay with Opti-Pessi Season Two as I am moving this weekend, which along with the previously mentioned causes more delays.

It's A Special, It Doesn't Have To Fit The Main Line

I am doing some maintenance on our stored images, some images in old posts may no longer work. At least until I bother to fix them.

We are planning an early release special for Thanksgiving, or maybe we aren't... The suspense thickens...

Have a taste:

Never tell your password to anyone.
McNaire: Cool, that worked for once
KoreRat (uc): Whoa, this is a first.
Garin: Sweet
KoreRat (uc): Are we going to use this for constructive things? Or just being ourselves?
McNaire: Hmm...
McNaire: HMM....
Garin: why does it have to one or the other?
McNaire: I give up
McNaire: What's the answer?
Garin explodes form the wrath of god
KoreRat (uc): Purple.
Garin: i shouldn't have said
Garin: yellow
McNaire: M'kay. I just thought, since Garin was asking me about Korerat replying we could save some time (And my fingers)
Garin: cool,
KoreRat (uc): Let me get my "thinking music" going...
KoreRat (uc): There, Sabbath.
Garin: anyway all I have for an idea so far is some king of character gathering, some video game reference, and a violent thanksgiving reference
McNaire is listening to Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along. "I know you guys thought this was lame, but this music is catchy.:P"
Garin listens to TSO
KoreRat (uc): What's more catchy than, "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train!" ??
McNaire: Actually a lot of Japanese stuff, but that gets stuck in your head
KoreRat (uc): But on point, I think it would be cool to do a Turkey day bit.
Garin: likse that one HORRIBLE flash song....
McNaire: Don't go there Garin
McNaire: Anyhow
KoreRat (uc): hehe
McNaire: We can, but what's the theme?
KoreRat (uc): Opti's first Antlion Day?
McNaire: let's catalog T-day themes. "Football, Turkey, eating alot..."
McNaire: Why would Opti go for antlions?
Garin: no other food
KoreRat (uc): Better yet, Opti just realizes that its a real holiday.
KoreRat (uc): And tries to seek out its history.
KoreRat (uc): But we make changes, like the antlions and turkeys.
McNaire: Nah, I'd rather have him looking for the fabled Plymouth Rock
KoreRat (uc): first settlers into Combine and Indians into refugees.
McNaire: So we get great shots of him holding a rock and talking to it
KoreRat (uc): Adopting a pet antlion, and Pessi wanting to eat it?
Garin disconnected.
KoreRat (uc): He thinks Antlion day is in support of Antlions, so he finds one, then Pessi makes it for dinner.
McNaire: Can we make the antlion smaller and cute?
McNaire: brb
KoreRat (uc): I might be able to deflate them, or see if there is something on gmod.org
KoreRat (uc): kk
KoreRat (uc): Oooh. L4D models, we could do a special with them celebrating thanksgiving in the zombie apocalypse..

Ess Tee Ay Ell Kay Ee Arr

Spent a good portion of the evening working on getting the Credits page updated. I think I have everything on there now. Even added a few things to pop in with Opti-Pessi: Season Two.

McNaire and I did some shooting tonight also, then he managed to spend two hours messing up and fixing GMod. I don't think he fixed it yet, just gave up due to fatigue. A few jolly good laughs.

Still planning on posting those last few BLU's. But there is a lot going on in both the McNaireHood and the KoreRatHood. So, may be a little longer.

One of the reasons might have something to due with the fact I bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl the other day, and have already logged a good ten hours in it. Sadley, I don't think I've done much of anything yet...

Anatomy of a Comic is completed. Part five was written in about two minutes, and when I re-read it a few hours later I didn't feel like it came across how I ment it too. So I re-wrote it, so give it a second look. And if you missed it read the whole thing.

Polish are Cooler than Irish

Seeing as there are no Irish that view my site, according to my stat records.

But those Polish, they rock it out at number 2! And Latvia came out of nowhere. Sucks that Germany is so low on the list, I like them.

Okay, to be honest, it's late I'm kinda tired, just not sleepy, and I felt like I should make a post for a Update. So here is an update:

Anatomy of a Comic will continue, I'm waiting for McNaire to write his bit for the editing and he has a bit busier of a schedule than I. I had planed to post it today, but hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday. Wait, it's after midnight so today is tomorrow and... *sigh* So maybe it will get posted today or tomorrow...

We have a couple more BLU's in the que waiting to be posted. Then we will be unofficially canceling the project. It was a temporary gig from the start, and we need to focus all of our time on to the upcoming Opti-Pessi Season 2. However, if the mood sparks us or we get a good idea, we might still toss some out randomly.

Opti-Pessi is running smoother than planned. Although, I had wished to get a good 10 episodes in before releasing the first and it isn't looking that way just yet. We have almost the entire season written, albeit we are missing the beginning and the end. Plus we haven't posed anything or shot anything yet, so currently I'm unsure if we will make the December deadline. I might play the VALVe card and push the release back, plus season 1 started on the 25th of December so why not season 2?

So there is the update.

In closing, Russians loves me more that Irish.

Not living under a rock.

Well, no. BLU wasn't canceled, just that issue. It's kinda confusing, I know. But it's been kinda hectic as of late for McNaire and myself. There are a bunch of issues waiting in the edit que, but I'm not sure if McNaire has had a chane to work on any of them.

There has been some work placed in the Opti-Pessi storyline development. A lot of ground work has been done on the plotline. We got a lot of great episode floating, just working on the startup.

Stay tuned for more.

ID-10-T ERROR

There would be a BLU comic here, but I forgot to upload it and all that stuff before I left for work...

Don't you wish I stopped messing with the site?

Ha ha. Once again I screwed with the colors and layout!

Ubercharged.net won the Server poll. I closed it early because of it's big lead, over all the other servers. Also 'How I shot waepon?' and 'WTF????? This isnt WoW' are tied up, so I'm going to start a NEW POLL with just those options and see who wins. Three days roughly, to vote.

KoreRat Quest! Part Two

Polls up! First is to pick the phrase said, second is where I say it. Vote, clear your cookies, and vote again!

In other news:

I was able to nab this shot of a Medic the other night. I gotta say it's a 'Class Definer'. I'm now on the lookout for shots this good for the rest of the classes. Keep in mind all I did to this is add the word 'Medic', the rest is just good timing.

Well, Damn.

First, no comic. But I'm gonna assume you kinda figured that out. McNaire holds the files to the last comic I did up, although he has yet to do anything with them. I seem to have lost interest in Opti-Pessi, or at least what it is at this very moment. It started off, in my head, as one thing. But became something completely different in the comics. I'm not saying I quit, or that there will be no more Opti-Pessi, but it will be a while. I'll try and smack McNaire around, perhaps I'll give him some more brownies on Monday, and try to get that last episode finished and released. To all the fans and those who were waiting for Opti and Pessi's venture into Portal, I'm sorry. KoreRat FTL.

I do plan on keeping things around(this site mainly), and I have a couple of ideas that I want to try out. Some comic type things, some others.

Who knows, maybe my other ideas will be better than Opti-Pessi. Or, perhaps they will all be wretched and I'll go back to OP in a week or two...

Mmph hmmph mmf ghumm!

First and foremost, Pyro Pack Rules! I got my Flare Gun last night, I was also ruling that server. I had the highest score with a forty point gap! I do say that these achievements are much better than the Medic ones. With the Medic achievements most just seem to much a distraction, they are more so a hindrance to your team if you try to obtain them. Pyro achievements, most of them, are the things you're already doing. I can see now this is going to keep me from that KoTOR game I started a few weeks back..

This coming week, I'll be working something around 77 hours between today and Saturday afternoon. Can you guess what I'm going to say next? No Opti-Pessi on Monday, I really hope to get one on Friday. I'm also canning Bi-Weekly, until further notice we will only be releasing on Fridays. I have a lot of crazy crap going on at both bleedin jobs. But I do have a old Short that I never released, I'll post that tomorrow so you got something to look forward too.

Other reasons of a lack of comic are, for Fathers Day I was given the gift of Rock Band! Thus I have spent many nights flailing my arms like a crazed Scout swings his bat, pounding out rythems that fall short of maintaining rythem. That game does rule a bit too much.

Lastly, here is a project I was working on last month, that I finally got up and finished. It's not comic related or TF2. Just a whole other random part of the KoreRat.

State of the Comic

I found out yesterday at Food Lion(my second job) that they need people in other areas of the store. Thus starting today I'm no longer working in the Deli, and am now in Grocery. I was also told that I could have as many hours as I so chose to have, up to 40. Now, I doubt I'll take 40 on top of the 40 I work at my day job, but you never know.

Therefore, Monday will have a comic release, Friday however, may not. McNaire is finalizing the finishing touches on Mondays Comic as we speak(well, technically he's not home this very second, but he's getting it done in between his RL duties and TF2 Medic Achievements). I have started Fridays, but am not even halfway done with it, and not sure if I will have the time to complete. I hope to get it done in time for McNaire for polish and post.

If there is no time, there will be no Friday comic, and that comic will be released on next Monday. I also believe that my working in the Grocery department my become a permanent thing, along with the extra hours, and since I need the money, I'll take the hours. If this does happen, Opti-Pessi will be forced to fall back to once a week releases...

I'm gonna try hard at keeping things running smooth for Bi-Weekly, but just want to keep you guys aware of the possibilities of the future.

-Bury

Pro, at Procrastination

So I spent my Monday working on the next two O/P comics. Then I told McNaire that he should get Friday's done soon, cause he might need the extra time for Mondays. Then I slacked off for a few days before I actually finished it. But now I have, ha!

Oh, I saw on a site I frequent, which had found it on a site they frequent. And we all seem to think it's greatness.

There was more, but I forgot what else I was gonna say...

Might post again later...

Budget Cuts.

So I had to cut McNaires budget, and well... This comic is a 'Use Your Imagine' release.

Therefor, I'm happy to announce McNaires budget has been reinstated, plus 5%. See the thrilling conclusion to 'Bridging the Boot' tomorrow.

Seriously.

Oh, and I just saw this and it rocks!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Made a few site changes today.

1)Removed the Episode List on the right.
2)Removed the Opti face from the right, bio page to be added later.
3)Removed the Pessi face from the right, bio page to be added later.
4)Added "The Opti-Pessi Comic Book" link to the right.
5)Added "Special Airings" to the right.
5)Minor layout adjustments.
6)Ended Source Game poll.

The new 'Comic Book' is a separate page you can check out for the latest comics. Set up for easy reading, it contains all the Episodes(minus the Holiday Special, now listed under 'Special Airings') We will no longer be posting the new comics on this site, here you will find news, polls, random ramblings, etc.

Portal won the poll, look for Opti and Pessi to visit the world of Chell and GLaDOS sometime soon. Also look for more polls, some comic based some just random.

Continue to check this site for all your O/P news and info.

Pole Position

I extend the time on the pole, voting is open until the 20th now.

Also you can vote for more than one game, I don't know if many of you realized that, but yea, you can vote for multiple games.

So go ahead and change up your vote, pick two or three games, make it interesting...

Portal? Really guys? Portal?

*sigh*

I really don't want to have to do that. Ugh, just vote for something else, please...

Tomorrow is comic day, and I would first, and well only, like to say: "VALVe, please don't sue me!"

Oh, this is kinda old, but I just found it, and it rocks...

Decide the Future!

I added a poll to let the loyal readers to have a say in where Opti and Pessi go next. Kind like a Choose Your Own Adventure Story, without the choosing the adventure... Here is a hint, they are going to find themselves in another land, and you get to help pick that land!

Poll on the right, you have until 1:30PM May 8th.

***for those who don't know... Half-Life: Full Life Consequences***

Hammer & Scribble

Something a few loyal readers may have noticed is the apparent apartment change. Well, this wasn't entirely on purpose. The apartment seen in the Holiday Special was a quick pick with no real panning involved, it worked for the time needed. The apartment seen in Episodes 4+ was one I discover on garrysmod.org. While that again, served it's ends. It's time now for Opti and Pessi to find a true home of their own. Enter Source SDK.

While I have dabbled in map making before, I've never really created anything that I truly enjoyed. And with the help from some tutorial videos on YouTube. I have begun working on a brand new home for our beloved Opti and Pessi. But, to be honest, it ain't that great.

Help? Anyone? If there is anybody that has some experience with Hammer and/or knows somebody that does, and is willing to do up a apartment map for a very anal client, drop me a line at korerat@comcast.net, or find me on steam at the same. Or, if you just have some tips or know of places to get some. I'm going to make sure that this will become the first map that I complete and actually like.

A few other tid-bits about the apartment:
-The reason the apartment is being changed may have something to do with a hard drive format and no longer being able to find the old copy of the map on garrysmod.org
-The current Series may have been brought into play sooner than planned, due to the possible loss of the apartment map.
-The apartment map has/had a lobby and four apartments(all with the same floor plan), and was a bit of a shabby throw together with missing walls/textures in various places.

Also, the series involving Master Chief from Halo has been canceled. Due to my disinterest(also known as hatred) with the Halo series. If I anger and Halo kids out there, deal with it.
